Error while trying to install symbolic math toolbox kit on linux
Show older comments
I'm trying to install the symbolic math toolbox on my linux device from the add-on mathlab page and I'm getting the following error after matlab tries to restart:
The feature at URL:
https://ui/install/addons_ui/index.html?uiTheme=light&snc=7FWGSZ
has crashed and will exit
The exit status was: TS_ABNORMAL_TERMINATION
why does this happen? I'm currently using matlab R2025b

That's odd... that URL refers to a resource on a host named "ui". I would have expected it to refer to something like
https://localhost/ui/install/addons_ui/index.html?uiTheme=light&snc=7FWGSZ

Does the system on which you're trying to install MATLAB and/or Symbolic Math Toolbox satisfy the Linux system requirements?

Since you're using Fedora and already aware that it is not supported, the recommended option is to use a supported distro.
If you really wish to get this installed on Fedora, as a workaround, you can try the standard MATLAB installer or MPM, but this does not guarantee every functionality in MATLAB will work (including the Symbolic Math Toolbox) because this distro is not supported:
