For Windows machine I used the following command and it wokred preety well:
X = readtable('filename', 'FileType', 'text');
However, this command shows most of the columns as NaN while loading on Mac.

Which of the 42 different programs that this page lists as creating files with the .log extension created this file? Or was it some other program that created it?
Without knowledge of the file format used to create it or perhaps some sort of Rosetta Stone I think it's going to be difficult or impossible to offer guidance. Showing a sample of a .log file might help someone determine details of the format, but it may not provide enough information.

I speculate that you using a version of MATLAB that is early enough that on Windows it still defaulted to talking to Excel to read xlsx files; the Mac never use Excel for reading tables.
