Description
The VI-grade real-time product suite provides a vehicle simulation environment for vehicle dynamicists, controls engineers, and driving simulator integrators to optimize complete system performance. By using VI-grade products, engineers and scientists can quickly and easily perform large design of experiments (DOE) and multi-objective optimization studies.
VI-DriveSim is the core integration technology for VI-grade’s driving simulator hardware solutions (compact, static, and dynamic). Its next-generation approach to system-level simulation allows companies to bridge the gap between virtual prototyping and testing. VI-grade’s solutions integrate detailed vehicle models, control models from MATLAB® and Simulink, immersive graphics, and driver-in-the-loop to replicate vehicle behavior in real time and in a laboratory environment to accelerate vehicle dynamics, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and automated vehicle (AV) development.
Since its inception, VI-grade has included integration with MathWorks tools as a keystone technology to enable combined multibody and controls simulations in cosimulation or embedded modes.
VI-grade’s real-time simulation products (VI-CarRealTime, VI-BikeRealTime) work as a real-time ride and handling blockset within Simulink or Simulink Coder™ for HIL/SIL simulations. A dedicated system target file enables export of custom targets from any Simulink model for easy integration with real-time simulations.
VI-grade’s domain-specific simulation products (VI-Automotive, VI-Motorcycle, VI-Aircraft, VI-Rail) can make their vehicle models available as S-functions for easy integration with control systems.
An extended API set also allows direct interaction with vehicle models directly from the MATLAB environment.
