Cannot find authentication imaqmex_mexw64.auth

A compiled version of UI with images and camera feed works mostly fine. But very occasionally, like once in a month, the programs halts as the camera fails to grab images. When I try imaqreset and reconnect to the camera it fails reconnection and I see the error message

Cannot find authentication file 'C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Temp\user\mcrCache9.2\iR_Vis0\toolbox\imaq\imaq\imaqmex_mexw64.auth'.

I just have to close the application and relaunch it to make it work. The application is compiled with Matlab R2017a and the installed MCR too is the same version. The PC runs Windows10.

Any idea why this happens and how to get rid of the problem?

Automatic system software might be cleaning out your Temp directory .

I believe ImageAnalyst might post somewhere how to tell MATLAB where CTF file is extracted.

Walter, That's a convincing thought. This application runs on 3 PCs and I have observed this behaviour on only one -the one running LTSC flavour of Win10. Any ideas to test if that is indeed the case -any way to track/investigate which application(s) access it or clear it?

Windows clean up Temp now end then.

Windows is a big mess, check STORAGE SENSE / TEMPORARY FILES setting

You better move CTF out of the Temp folder
