Matlab operation in macOS

I cannot run R2019b in my macOS Catalina, and it will show "Ready" situation but cannot type anything or do anything in the window.

Make sure you update to at least R2019b Update 4.

Try opening your terminal, then type:
cd /Applications/MATLAB_R2019b.app/bin
type
./matlab
Are you using some academic license? If so, you should have vpn from university os similar logged in, before using matlab. Otherwise it will be unresponsive.
