does not finish activation, receive error message

2 views (last 30 days)
Have a HP stream, 32 GB SSD and 2GB RAM, dual core Intel Celeron N3050 1.6GHz processor, with an external 250GB SSD, Win 10 home Ver 1903, Matlab r2019b. I was able to download the installer, the main program and start activation. The activation stopped with an error message, (Apr 03, 2020 09:40:41) Error: The application encountered an unexpected error. More information can be found at C:\Users\Pamela\AppData\Local\Temp\mathworks_Pamela.log. The log file is quite large, so who can I send the log to so they can analyze the error. Thanks, Sean.

The issue is likely related to old cached files in the MathWorks folder in Downloads. Removing this folder will allow the installation to continue.
The directory that you have to remove will look like:
C:\Users\[yourusername]\Downloads\MathWorks\
Delete the whole MathWorks directory.
Hope this helps!

Hi. Thanks for the answer. I did mention that I downloaded the programs on the D drive and wanted to install it there since the C drive did not have enough room. After I downloaded the main program and ran the install, the main program would throw the error message I had mentioned. I went back and found that the 44GB dowload has disappeared. The directory you mention is not present, nor does it appear on the D drive. I cannot resume the install since the program is not there anymore. I would have to restart the whole process, download the installer then the main program. Can Matlab be installed on D drive? This is very frustrating as Matlab seems to be very specific about how it is installed. Thanks, Sean (I'm Pamela's father)
