WHAT IS THE MATLAB CODE FOR COUNTING THE WHITE PIXELS IN A 8X8 GRAY SCALE PIC?

I badly need help for my homework, I don't have any idea here so I am looking for some help for me to be able to test and run the program. Please give me some step-by-step guide. Thank you so much!
