Always getting Licensing error: -9,57 on linux machine

Hi, I have a student license for Matlab, I believe the license is connected also to the lab computers in university, there of course it works fine. But on my laptop running Linux I always get the following error
License checkout failed.
License Manager Error -9
Your username does not match the username in the license file.
To run MATLAB on this computer, you must run the Activation client to reactivate your license.
Troubleshoot this issue by visiting:
https://www.mathworks.com/support/lme/R2018b/9
Diagnostic Information:
Feature: MATLAB
License path: /home/damnko/.matlab/R2018b_licenses/*.lic:/usr/local/MATLAB/R2018b/licenses/license.dat:/usr/local/
MATLAB/R2018b/licenses/license_damnko_40523914_R2018b.lic
Licensing error: -9,57.
There are no active computers using my license and I've tried to run ./activate_matlab.sh in order to activate the license, everything runs fine but actually Matlab never starts. I was able to make it work only once, and then after closing it I was never able to open it again because of this error. On this laptop I've always been connected through wifi, of course on different networks.
Hope someone can help me, thanks

You would get that error if you register with user name root or any other name that does not match the result of
whoami
you mean register the license? I use login and password associated to my uni account and then in the end it asks for a username and I'm using what results as "whoami"
You should probably contact Mathworks for free installation support.
