matlab 2017b: data tips don't appear automatically in debug mode.

I downloaded Matlab 2017b, and now the data tips don't appear automatically when I place the cursor on a variable. Is there anything I can do to fix the problem?

Check that the "Enable data tips in edit mode" preference is enabled.
