How do i find the ip address of license server?

i installed matlab using installing key .I got the error "license manager -96" and when i tried ping hostname in the command prompt it says ping request couldnt find the host.The second option is to change the hostname to ip address of server .

So some one of the over 4 billion devices in the world is your IP server, and we are to tell you which one it is, without even any clue as to its name or country or whether it is to be reached by a private IP address or a public IP address, or whether you are using IPv4 or IPv6 addresses?

I do not think you need to understand all the details of how this works. Your license administrator should be able to make sure you have a working license file and all reasons for the license error -96 are eliminated. Article here.
