I get an error when i use load command

for k = 1:length(matFiles)
baseFileName = matFiles(k).name;
fullFileName = fullfile(myFolder, baseFileName);
fprintf(1, 'Now reading %s\n', fullFileName);
matData{k} = load(fullFileName);
%data.power = matData{k}.rawdata;
contour(xposition,yposition,matData{k}.rawdata)
hold on
end
Error using load Unable to read MAT-file /Volumes/MY PASSPORT/redhwan/Documents/MATLAB/2DimenstionalTestingGT20150907/MeasurementDataFinal/TWDPN5db14ft_35inchMetalCab/._xpositions.mat. Not a binary MAT-file. Try LOAD -ASCII to read as text.

Did you try what it suggested -- to use the -ASCII option? Or maybe you want to use a function like csvread, dlmread, importdata, textscan, etc. instead of load.
