How can I update my MATLAB Student or Home Use license to a newer version?

I have previously purchased MATLAB Student or MATLAB Home Use, and the maintenance period on my license has expired so I am not eligible to download and install the latest version of MATLAB. How can I purchase an upgrade so I can access newer versions?

You can upgrade your Student or Home Use license by renewing your software maintenance. Once the software maintenance has been renewed, your license will be eligible to be updated to the latest release of MATLAB, and you will be able to access newer versions as they are released for one year from the date of your software maintenance purchase. Student and Home Use licenses must also be current on maintenance in order to add additional toolboxes to the license's configuration.
For further details on how to update, please visit the following page, and select your license type. For MATLAB Student licenses, choose 'Student', then click the 'renew' button. For MATLAB Home Use licenses, choose 'Home Use', then click the 'renew' button.
You will be brought to a page where your licenses are listed. Select the license you wish to renew and look for the 'Renew Software Maintenance Service' button or link.
Once your order has been processed, you will be able to download and install the latest versions from your MathWorks account.
