LINUX : ID for MATLAB

Hello
Could you confirm that for LINUX, I can use only MAC@ and not Volume ID ?

What do you mean by "use"? That is a question about the product?
I looked into it and it seems it is related to activation. Can you tell me which release you are using and which Linux?
Hello,
Yes, I speak about activation.
I will ask to my colleagues. It's for OFFLINE activation.
For windows, we use only Volume ID for OFFLINE activation. I prefer do the same for LINUX as some of our PC can have the MAC@ not available for SSI reasons.

C. GAL
The documentation has always referred to volume serial number activation as only being available on Windows.
Matlab R19b
Linux : Ubuntu 16.04

Thank you for sharing the context about offline activation. I am confident the information in the article is complete and correct. As offline activation is a frequent need in the defense industry, I wonder if that is your industry and in such a case I would not rely on a user community, but your IT reaching out to MathWorks.
As you can see, I am a MathWorks employee, but my know-how in this field is probably somewhat outdated. I found an internal knowledgbase article that suggests the underlying reason for the question may be an unqualified distributon. But I can exclude that. Although your release is somewhat old, the OS/release combination is qualified.
This article also shares why attempting to workaround the Mac/VolID topic can have negative impact on other software on that machine.

Unfortunately, that article only implies that it is necessary to use MAC for Linux, and does not outright state that to be the case.
