How can I work with 8 cores on Parallel Computing Toolbox?
Show older comments
Dear all,
I been working in a laptop core i7 with 8 cores. Parallel preferences set the preferred number of workers in a parallel pool in 12. But when I open a parallel pool, Matlab only recognize four of them. There are any problem with parallel computing toolbox? or I need adjust some additional preferences?
Thanks in advances for your help.

I don't know, but I do see that a common first step is to "Validate the cluster profile", see http://www.mathworks.com/help/distcomp/clusters-and-cluster-profiles.html

You suspect the poster might have only 4 cores, each with hyperthreading? Plausible.

Yes, exactly.
