Book Recommendation for Image processing/feature extraction

1 view (last 30 days)
I saw the book on feature extraction (Feature Extraction and Image Processing), but the index appeared to have very little to do with facial recognition. Perhaps it is the right book, but I wanted to hear your opinion before I purchase it. I want to be able to identify the ears of the buck and also the rack (antlers) of a buck.
In the end I want to be able to estimate the size of the rack (antlers) on a buck and also count the number of points on the antlers.
Theoretical is OK though I would like the text to be more heavily leaning towards hands on, with ample MATLAB code I can test out. While I have moderate MATLAB experience, I have had very little exposure to Image processing.

Here's an online image processing book:

The online books looks good for theory. I was hoping to find something which formed examples using MATLAB, like the initial book you referenced.

My favorite general purpose image processing book is the Image Processing Handbook by John Russ <>

The reference is to a book "Computational Physics: A Guide For Beginners Looking To Speed Up Their Computation" that appears to have been written by the poster.
