how to simulate (without using hardware) arduino using matlab/simulink?

Hi everyone. I was assigned an arduino project in my university. In today's real situation all projects have to simulate and I faced a problem when I was required to simulate my system using matlab/simulink without using arduino board. It's horrible that I can't find any information on how to simulate on matlab/simulink without the arduino board. I'm still standing on the spot because I'm helpless. I don't know is it possible to simulate arduino on matlab/simulink? If so, what is the solution? If anyone here has done something like this, please answer? please help!
