The error "An unrecognized character" in EEGLAB

I want to import a .EEG format data to EEGLAB.But There is an error telling there is an unrecognised variable 'chan_names' in some line.How can i fix it?I hava many datas that they have this same problem.
Im using neuroscan plugin to import .EEG datas.
