Hey all,
so i dont have a laptop yet but I need to install (and obviously use) Matlab for Uni. Thats why my parents allowed me to borrow their laptop until i find a suitable one for myself. The only problem is the laptop runs on Linux Mint and neither me nor my parents know a lot, if anything about Linux...
So my situation is as follows: I have a license and a product key. I never entered them anywhere yet since I was never prompted to do so. I only installed the Linux version of Matlab and now I dont know how to continue...
If anyone could help me out thatd be greatly appreciated :)

You've completed step 1 of the three steps on the Installation and Licensing documentation page. Continue with steps 2 and 3.
Alternately if your license is one of the types in the Get Started section on this documentation page running MATLAB Online in your browser may be an option depending on what products you need to access.
