Can MATLAB’s ColorSpec predefined colors be changed/customized?

1 view (last 30 days)
I’m working on a plot where, at times, 8 sets of data are being plotted using the gscatter function. I’m using MATLAB’s 8 predefined colors to correlate to the MarkerFaceColor for each of the 8 data sets. It works, but leaves the user manually changing the white data points to gray [0.5 0.5 0.5] or some other intensity.
Is there a way to change/append MATLAB’s predefined white color to gray (or other intensities)?

The word has fairly consistently been that they are hard-coded.
However, if you are referring to the colors that are automatically generated (e.g, if you plot multiple lines with the same plot() call) rather than the named colors such as 'r', then you can set the axis ColorOrder property.

Walter, I'm beginning to think you are correct. All documentation I've read so far eludes to them being hard coded.
