Import Excel file into Safety Analysis Manager

Syntax

spreadsheet = safetyAnalysisMgr.import(fileName)

Description

spreadsheet = safetyAnalysisMgr.import(fileName) imports the Excel^® file, fileName, into the Safety Analysis Manager.

Examples

Import an Excel File

Suppose that you have an Excel file named mySpreadsheet.xls that contains one spreadsheet. Import the spreadsheet into the Safety Analysis Manager and retrieve the associated Spreadsheet object.

mySpreadsheet = safetyAnalysisMgr.import("mySpreadsheet.xls");

Input Arguments

fileName — Excel file name

string scalar | character vector

Excel file name, specified as a string scalar or character vector. When specifying the file name, you must include the file extension. If the file is not in the current folder, specify the path and the file name.

Data Types: char | string

Output Arguments

spreadsheet — Imported Safety Analysis Manager spreadsheet

Spreadsheet object

Imported Safety Analysis Manager spreadsheet, returned as a Spreadsheet object. You can view the spreadsheet by opening the Safety Analysis Manager with the safetyAnalysisMgr.openManager function.

Limitations

• The Excel spreadsheet must use the format described in Import and Export Safety Analysis Manager Spreadsheets.
