Shading type changes on figure copy

Hi All,
I'm using pcolor to generate 2D color maps, but when I set the shade type to interpolate, i.e.
shading(gca, 'interp')
it works, but when I copy the figure and paste it elsewhere it pastes as 'flat' shading.
Thanks for any advice
