Dear all,
I am using Matlab(R2010b) in lab in my college. Matlab was closed and showed the message 'License checked failed, License Manager Error -97, License Manager cannot start'. By clicking the troubleshoot, on MathWorks website there is a Solution as the following. Solution:
For Windows ***************
This error typically occurs if the mlm.exe process fails to start on the license manager. This commonly happens if there is another license manager for another product running on this machine using the same port that the MATLAB license server wants to use. To resolve this, you can take the following steps:
1. Open the license.dat in $MATLAB\etc ($MATLAB\flexlm for releases prior 2010b) in Notepad (where $MATLAB is the installation folder on your machine). 2. In the license file, locate the line that starts with the word SERVER and ends in 27000. Change 27000 (the port number) to another number such as 27010. 3. Open lmtools.exe from $MATLAB\etc\win{32|64} ($MATLAB\flexlm for releases prior to 2010b). 4. If the MATLAB License Server is not highlighted, click on it to highlight it 5. Go to the Start/Stop/Reread tab. 6. Check the box to "Force Server Shutdown" and then click Stop Server 7. Once the status bar at the bottom says "Stopping Server", click Start Server to restart the server.
But I couldn't find license.dat in specified folder. Is there anyone having a moment to give me a hand on this problem. Recently, I have been using PSAT(power system analysis software used with Matlab)on my computer. I am not sure if this causes the problem.
Thank you and regards,
Don Kang
