Enable Access to Base Workspace - Matlab 2016a

I am trying to use both matlab workspace and data dictionary to load variables and enumerations in workspace respectively for my Simulink Model.

However, model is asking for linking to data dictionary and after doing that simulink is unable to access variables in Base workspace. In online documentations, after linking to Data Dictionary there is an option to enable access to base workspace in Model Properties but that option is not coming for Matlab 2016a.

Any resolutions are there for this problem?

In R2016a, the base workspace and Simulink Data Dictionary are only available exclusively.

This is a functional specification of Simulink.

From which version of MATLAB, support for both Simulink Data Dictionary and Base Workspace is available inclusively in Simulink Model?
