Dear Friend,
I plot a figure using "area" command, which translate a N by 4 matrix to a figure, where N means the date, 4 means 4 assets, these 4 asset add up to 1, so, an area figure is able to show the changes of asset weights. The problem is Matlab assigns different colors to different assets in a solid form, however, I need use "DiagonalLines',"FDiagonalLines","HorizontalLines","VerticalLines" to fill different assets, rather than using colors. Is there a way to achieve this?
thanks a lot

I suggest you search for the term "hatch" in the File Exchange: http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/. It looks like there are several submissions that do this sort of thing.
