Offline Update from 2020b Update 4 to Update 5 and Beyond

1 view (last 30 days)
I have an off-line system(s) that was originally installed with 2020b Update 1 using the full 19 GB ISO back in November 2020. Last week I burned a Blu-Ray containing 2020b Update 4 and successfully installed it. I now see 2020b Update 5 is out. My question is: Can I, after extracting 2020b Update 5, copy just the 2020b folder (just the Update 5 specific folder) to my off-line box and install it under the same folder I used for 2020b Update 4? I assume I would need to rename, on the off-line box, the original Update 4 "2020b" folder to R2020b_Update_4 and then replace it with the new Update 5 "R2020b" folder. I want to reduce the overhead of using Blu-Ray disks over DVDs and seems like a waste to copy all these files for each update everytime. Does this make sense?

Hi Kenneth,
To install an offline update, you need to unzip the update package to a new folder each time.
Detailed procedure for offline update is available here.
