If I use Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine block in Simulink for Wind Turbine Generator how to set the Rated Power?

8 views (last 30 days)
So I have a project where to simulate Wind Turbine with rated power of 1 kW, rated windspeed 11m/s, rated rotor speed 490rpm.
If I already set the Wind Turbine block, how to set the PMSM for specification above?

Hello
If you are referring to the PMSM block, you will need to set certain parameters according to the Wind Turbine you've modelled. For example, set Mechanical input to Torque Tm,and Rotor Type to Round. More information can be found here: Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine.
Also look into this model in the File Exhange: Variable Speed Wind Turbine with PMSG. Thanks for the answer, but as far as I know from looking some PMSG Wind turbine models lots of wind turbine model use speed input is from PMSM itself, so the system would be Wind turbine generating torque for PMSM while PMSM generating generator speed for wind turbine, so how to connect these things and set them up so we can get desired rated nominal power with the desired wind turbine parameters?
Lots of them use complicated model instead of simple wind turbine model with only Wind Turbine, PMSM, some gain blocks, and sensors, so it's pretty hard to understand.
