Say I have the points x = 1,12,2,6,5 and y = 5,23,5,6,3 which are not related. I know i can plot them using plot(x,y), but how do i do this using a function?

x = [1,12,2,6,5]
y = [5,23,5,6,3]
plot(x,y)
% Using a function handle
y_fun = @(x) 3.*x + 5;
y_vals = y_fun(x);
plot(x, y_vals)
