Adding underscore in xlabel latex interpreter

Hi all,
I intend to add underscore in xlabel title using latex interpreter, but somehow, I am not success..
Basically, I need L subscript(ex)_L.. Below command yields me L_subscript(ex), but, the portion after underscore I am not getting.. Please help..
xlabel('$L_{(ex)}_L$','fontweight','bold','FontSize',20,'Interpreter','latex');

Are you looking for something like this
xlabel('$L_{{(ex)}_L}$','fontweight','bold','FontSize',20,'Interpreter','latex');

Actually, I am looking for L sub (ex)_L , but the above command gives L sub (ex) sub L.....
You can escape the underscore
xlabel('$L_{{(ex)}\_L}$','fontweight','bold','FontSize',20,'Interpreter','latex');
