Memory fragmentation (win32, XP sp3, R2010a) with latest windows update (April 2011)

1 view (last 30 days)
Dear all,
Since the last automatic windows update some days back I face the issue of severe memory fragmentation on WinXP (SP3). The problem is reproducible on multiple different Laptops (work and Home). Suddenly the largest free contigious block is some 560MB (comparad to previous >1100MB). Anyone facing similar troubles?
Regards, Patrice

Were you using the /3G boot switch? And has it accidentally been removed by the update?

Actually I never had the 3G switch on. Also without you get/got decend 1100MB as largest contingent block.
