12 directional wavelets in dtdwt

dwt has 3 directional wavelets(vertical,horizantal,diagonal)but Dual tree dwt has 12 directional wavelets(6 for real , 6 for imaginary). how?can you please explain

This is not a MATLAB question. It is a wavelet theory question. Please use a wavelet technical resource to research this question.
