how can I make a cylindrical helix cylinder volume in matlab?

So I've been surfing the web and I've found multiple examples of making cylindrical helixes using this simple example:
a = 0.5;
c = 5.0;
t = 0:0.01:10*pi;
x = a*sin(t);
y = a*cos(t);
z = t/(2*pi*c);
figure(1)
plot3(x, y, z);
xlabel('x'); ylabel('y'); title('Circula helix');
However, I want to make a 3D volume of this spiral instead i.e. a ones(100,100,100) where the spiral replaces the relevant values to 2. I'm not sure how to approach this problem and it's been bugging me for hours. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I highly recommend looking at this: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/25086-extrude-a-ribbon-tube-and-fly-through-it
This "extrudes" a shape along a curve. So, extruding a circle along the length of a spiral would result in a 3D spiral.
