Simscape compiling takes forever

I have modeled a production plant in Simscape/SimMechanics. Compiling takes about 30 Minutes. I am using native Autodesk-Inventor-Files (ipt) in all File-Solids. Is there any benefit in using stp instead? Is there anything else, I can do to decrease my compiling time?

My guess is that you have too many components. Each components has associated Differential Algebraic Equations (DAEs). The Simscape solver needs to sort through and manipulate them. It takes time. Try to reduce unnecessary solids and joints.

There are about 250 Components, most of them are coupled rigidly using rigid transform blocks. But these components are very complex. All in all they consume about 650 MB on my harddrive.
There are about 50 Joints in my Modell.
When my Modell is compiled Matlab consumes about 25 GB of Ram.
Commenting out 2/3 of the blocks decreases compiling time to about 2 Minutes.
I really dont want to reduce my components :(

I guess you can group many elements together as a single solid without using rigid joints. It's more work to do, of course, but the model still reflect the real system.
