Instrument Control Toolbox won't recognize NI-VISA drivers on OS X Lion
Show older comments
I'd like to use the Instrument Control toolbox on a Mac running OS X Lion to communicate with GPIB hardware through a NI GPIB-ENET 100. I am using this arrangement currently with LabView, which would seem to indicate a correct installation of NI-488.2 and NI-VISA. This page:
indicates that this was not possible with R2010a on a 64-bit Mac because the current version of NI-VISA was 32-bit.
According to this page:
the latest version of NI-VISA (5.2.1), which is what I am running, is 64-bit compatible.
However, the instrument control toolbox still does not recognize the VISA drivers.
What am I missing here?

Out of curiosity: are you running on a Mac Pro? That's the only current Mac I can think of that accepts add-on cards.

Have you tried the R2015b pre-release with the latest version of NI VISA for the Mac?

You should be able to use the Hardware Support Package to install the necessary software on the Mac to use NI VISA to connect to instruments.
