Matlab R2019b does not start after installation of Update 4

After installing Update 4 of Matlab R2019b on MacBookPro 16" / macos Catalina, Matlab does not work anymore. Application closes immediately after start. This way I way I even can not get to the 'Search for Update' Function in case a new Update is published. Need immediate help.

It may be necessary for you to completely uninstall MATLAB and all Toolboxes you have, completely reinstall all of them, then try Update 4 again.
it worked this way; thanks for your help.
My pleasure!
Note that there are a few remaining subdirectories and files that need to be removed manually after uninstalling. (I trust that you did that. I mention it here for those who may at some point need to uninstall and reinstall.)

I had the same problem when I updated to Catalina. My work around is to start the application from the terminal window ("MATLAB_R2019b.app/bin/matlab -nodesktop"). Then I run a short program. When it completes, I type "desktop" in the terminal window. It opens the standard desktop version and runs normally.

I meanwhile could solve the problem by complete deinstallation and re-installation. But thanks for your help anyway.
