Unrecognized function or variable 'connector.ensureServiceOn'.
Unable to resolve the name connector.resetLocalePreference.

I get the exact same problem on my Windows 10 Laptop. I installed and uninstalled Matlab 2019b.

Installing 2020a (from previously 2019a) I've had similar problems with error messages concerning this:
Unrecognized function or variable 'matlab.internal.addons.updates.getSupportPackageUpdates'.
I found the answer from a matlab person.....but can't find it again..
Here's what I did... it fixed it..
restoredefaultpath
rehash toolboxcache
savepath

The errors went away if I opened matlab.exe instead of the shortcut for matlab on the desktop.

I had the same experience for 2020a and the same solution. I do not know why my windows 10 laptop does this.
