Contour plots from 3D grid

I would like to use contourf to plot two slices out of a 3D grid, and put them both in the same 3D space. Is there a way take the X and Y coordinates of the contour plot and orient them in 3D space (give them new X,Y,Z coordinates?) That way I could plot both, and show how they are related.
