# of elements mismatch

Hi you all,

I have a cell array named tlthat only has 96 elements in the fist column, and those are all the element in this array, but why does the Value shows a 97 by 1 cell in the workspace?

I'm guessing that the 97th element is empty. What does this show:

tl{97}

You are abslutely right. It is an 0 X 0 empty char array, but how did this empty cell sneak into this variable?
