How to make a gate valve work in a hydraulic circuit?

1 view (last 30 days)
I am having trouble connecting a Gate Valve block to my hydraulic circuit. The hydraulic circuit uses a constant pressure source and passes flow through a 4-way directional valve to a motor (not pictured). I want to add a gate valve after the directional valve so that I can proportionally restrict flow.
The pipe is 19mm in diameter, however the constant signal that is being passed into the gate valve is 9 becuase I want to restrict the flow about 50%.
The pressure sensors before and after the gate valve indicate that there is no change in the flow. How do I fix this issue, so that the gate valve will proportionally restrict flow when I feed in different values?

Hi ,
I am also trying to use gate valve in gas system to delay the flow of gas flow in the circuit.
What I intend to do is start the gas flow between two ports in the circuit after the defined time delay with the help of valve .
But there's no effect seen on the output end.
I would like to know if there's any possible solution to this , "using gate valeve is gas systems ".
Thanks

Hi there Have you checked that the unit in the S-PS converter for the gate valve is set to mm? If not, Simscape believes it is 9m which is fully opening all the time. Br Juan
