How to set the size of subplot?

I don't know why the location of my first subplot is weird. All parameter is default.

How can I reset the ration of my first subplot.

Setting the location of the function subplot doesn't work.

When you step through the code in debug mode, one line at a time, is there a particular line that causes the resize?
