How to associate .mlx extension with Matlab in Ubuntu 18.04?

I recently installed 2019a in Ubuntu 18.04. However, .mlx files are associated with "Archive Manager". How can I change this association?

I believe you can try the steps mentioned in this link: https://websiteforstudents.com/open-files-with-default-apps-in-ubuntu-17-10-18-04/. This should help you modify and link the application required to open the "MLX Scripts".

Hi Soumya,
Thank you very much for your response and the link. However, after following the solution in the link, the issue still remains. This is because, "MATLAB" is not an item in the "Recommended Applications" list (see the screen shot below) for me to open .mlx file and associate it wil MATLAB. Also, "Find New Application" simply starts MATLAB. If there is a way to get MATLAB in the "Applications" list, the issue will be resolved. Is there a way to do this?
Thanks again.

You can try adding the MATLAB executable into the applications list by following the steps mentioned in this link: https://askubuntu.com/questions/162612/how-can-i-add-an-application-to-the-list-of-open-with-applications/483334#483334
Hi Soumya,
Thanks for the link. The discussion there-in (i.e., adding %F at the end of 'Exec=" line) almost solved the problem. All .mlx files are now associated with MATLAB. However, double clicking any .mlx file opens MATLAB but does not load that file. So there is some disconnect somewhere.
