How to plot points without line

I'm trying to plot the following command
as points rather than a linear line how do i do that?

plot(x,y,'or')

Sets the line style as none, and select a marker as you like. For example:
plot(x, y,'linestyle','none','marker','o')

But the matlab tell me "Unrecognized attribute none for class Line."
