Create scale arrow on quiver

I have a quiver plot with vectors and i'd like to add a scale/legend vector indicating the reference. See my plot and code below. I attached mat file with sample data.

 qp = quiver(year_day74,0,east_574_Gs_tot_15m,north_574_Gs_tot_15m)
 set(qp,'LineWidth',1,'MaxHeadSize',.1,'AutoScaleFactor',0.5,'Color','blue')

How do i add the reference arrow to the plot. for eg. 1 m/s reference like topright on this image :-)
