You seem to have omitted the LHS.
dxdt = (x^2-y^2)/2*x*y
dydt = (x^2-y^2)/2*x*y
dxdy = (x^2-y^2)/2*x*y
dydx = (x^2-y^2)/2*x*y
or something else?

My bad. The equation is 2*x*y*(dy/dx)=(x^2)-(y^2). This is an exact equation. How do we find the solution of an exact differential equation in matlab

syms y(x)
ode=2*x*y*(diff(y))==(x^2)-(y^2)
sol=dsolve(ode)
