Extract background with similar color, but maintain the object original color

Hello. I want to ask you because I'm not very familiar with matlab image processing.
I have a collection of image files.
Therefore, how do I extract the background and leave the chicken feces only?

Color segmentation is probably the way to go, but I can't tell because you forgot to tell us where you uploaded your image to. I have a hard time visualizing what you're describing. Is it chocolate (as in solid chocolate or chocolate syrup) and regular white milk in puddles on a floor that is the same color as the chocolate, but is also sprinkled with ground black pepper dust? Because that's how I'm interpreting it. Edit your question and use the image link on the toolbar on this page, after you have uploaded your image somewhere.

I make a blog to view the images easier. I hope you may use this images. This image use chicken excrement as object, and chocolate background, with some particles. (I do not know the name).

Those are tough - such a huge variety in both the excrement and the background. I'd probably try some kind of texture segmentation.
