Dot indexing is not supported for variables of this type

1 view (last 30 days)
Hello all. I have a very nice piece of GUI code I wrote. Recently, MATLAB crashed while I was writing the code and now when I try to open it, AppDesigner says 'Dot indexing is not supported for variables of this type' in a dialog box, and refuses to open the document. Is there any way I can probe this, to rescue my work?

Perhaps something is corrupted in the mlapp file? See this post.
Hopefully you can access your codes at least via:
1. Rename your .mlapp file as a .zip file.
2. Go to zip folder -> matlab -> document.xml and fix whatever issue it's having.

Definitely, I had a look through all those files, everything looks in order. Anyway, it seems strange that the whole thing would refuse to open just because there's a simple syntax error.
Thanks for the links.
