i'm trying to install the real time kernel for simulink and from the guide provided in mathworks i should simply write the following code in the command window:
sldrtkernel -install
but i keep getting this massage :
Undefined function 'sldrtkernel' for input arguments of type 'char'.
thanks in advance.

Are you sure you have the correct toolbox installed? You should be able to check with the ver command which toolboxes are installed. Otherwise you can check if the function is shadowed by using which('sldrtkernel','-all').

I followed the instructions from
https://de.mathworks.com/help/sldrt/ug/real-time-windows-target-kernel.html which doesn't mention installing anything other than 'sldrtkernel' in the command window

Did you select "Simulink Desktop Real-Time software" during the installation of Matlab and do you have the required license? If not, sldrtkernel is not found in Matlab's toolbox folders, which would cause the shown error.
