How to continuosly show processed images as they are getting processed? (efficiently)

I am working on Live image processing. And want to show processed image as fast as I can.

finalImage = imshow(im);
for i=1:dataLength
  tic
  zoomIm = imTransform(im);    % Main Image Transforming function
  title(['CPU-Elapsed Time: ' sprintf('%0.3f Sec', toc)])
  set(finalImage,'CData',zoomIm);
  %drawnow
  pause(0.0001)
end

I am not using drawnow, because it takes much time.

But is there any other out of the box efficient way to processes and show live images?

You should try the optional argument of drawnow, mainly nocallbacks

Is using 'imshow' is correct descision for this type of application.

Since you actually want callbacks to be executed, you should try out drawnow limitrate, although pause might still be faster.

I also have the feeling the edit below could shave a few ms off your execution time:

%initialize title as an object:
titleobj=title();
%inside the loop:
titleobj.String=sprintf('CPU-Elapsed Time: %0.3f Sec', toc);

Or maybe set would be faster than dot indexing? That might be dependent on you release.

If you have the nocallbacks flag, does you exit callback still work?
