Matlab installation problem

Hi,

I just installed R2012a. after installation and activation no icon was created in the desktop and also no folder was created in the windows start menu. what is the problem?

Please help me. I am just eager to use this new version.

The Mathworks gives free telephone help for all installation issues, even for student versions. The fastest way is to just call them.

Some products do not create the shortcuts automatically when you install them. I know MDCS is one of them, but I believe there are others (Compiler?). The installer tells you this in one of the last screens when you are running the install.

It could also be a permissions issue.

But install support is indeed free of charge.
