%Girder (bulge)
Sgirderbottom=2
w014=0:Sgirderbottom:(10*Sgirderbottom);
grdbt2 =0:0.1:5;
[nR,nC]=size(grdbt2);
gbt2=ones(1,length(grdbt2));
for www=(1:length(w014))
gbt2(www,:)=w014(www).*ones(nR,nC);
end
plot(gbt2,grdbt2)

I am not certain what you want to do.
  1. Create polar axes using the polaraxes (link) function;
  2. Plot in polar coordinates using the polarplot (link) function;
  3. Transform a plot in Cartesian coordinates to polar coordinates with the cart2pol (link) function.
One of these should do what you want.
