The USB interface of PZSDRCC-BRK-G carrier board doesn't work with the Matlab/Xilinx firmware

1 view (last 30 days)
Hello All,
I'm struggling with starting the USB connectivity of PicoZed SDR2 PZSDRCC-BRK-G carrier board with combination with the Matlab firmware, which supports Communications System Toolbox™ Support Package for Xilinx® Zynq®-Based Radio, but without any success till this moment.
USB works perfectly with the Analog Device's zynq-picozed-sdr2-brk firmware but not with the Matlab's one.
When I insert USB pen drive there is no any indication for connectivity. Nothing from fdisk -l, lsusb and into the /dev/bus/ directory.
Has anyone encountered the same issue before?
Thank you so much for any idea how to overcome that issue.
Regards,
Ethan

Hi Ethan,
If I understand correctly, you're trying to use the USB-OTG to port on the carrier to provide the connection between your local host and remote target.
This is not a supported workflow using the Xilinx Zynq-Based Radio hardware support package (and it's firmware), which requires a dedicated Ethernet link between the host and target.
Please see the setup instructions here for more info: https://www.mathworks.com/help/supportpkg/xilinxzynqbasedradio/ug/manual-host-radio-hardware-setup.html

Hi Martin,
There is no problem with the connection between the local host and remote target using USB-UART port. But when I try to access any other USB device (for example USB GPS module) connected to the second USB2.0 OTG there is no any indication for already inserted device. Does MathWorks currently provide the necessary USB drivers in the Matlab firmware image for PicoZed SOM boards to support this USB functionality?
Thanks,
Ethan

Hi Ethan,
Sorry, I misunderstood your original question.
At present, the MathWorks firmware does not currently support this workflow.

Hi Martin,
Thank you for the quick reply. Can we expect this USB functionality to me included in the Matlab firmware in near feature?
Thanks,
Ethan
